Description

Protest to the Academy of Ancient Music regarding his loss of the position as music director to the organisation (autograph), and a letter to him from Dr Samuel Arnold related to his appointment in place of Cooke.

Provenance

Both letters are annotated by Cooke's son, Henry Cooke. Purchased by W. T. Freemantle as part of lot 135 in the Puttick and Simpson sale of 30-31 July, 1873.
