Mainly signed typescript copies of letters sent by Grattan Puxon [Secretary of the (National) Gypsy Council] to various correspondents involved in the establishment, development and work of the National Gypsy Council (UK) and wider European and International movements concerning Gypsy, Traveller and Roma rights.
Also includes names/signatures on a series of petitions, notes and lists of contacts.
References include;
(1) co-operation and associations/networks of international organisations campaigning for Gypsy,Traveller and Roma Rights and wider human rights campaigns, [Comité International Tsigane - CIT;Race Relations Institute; NSPCC; Itinerant Action International; World Romany Community, Canada;UNESCO; Council of Europe]
(2) the work of these organisations with regards to campaigns and individual cases against evictions of Gypsies and Travellers in the UK [Birmingham, Kent, London] and Ireland; education and teaching of the Romany language, [Lacio DROM schools in Italy and the National Gypsy Council's DROM schools in the UK]; communications and media coverage [Romano Drom journal/newspaper, BBC, Time Magazine]; evangelical movements within these communities; 1st World Romani Congress (1971).
