2 letters from friend and President of the Cleveland Bay Horse Society, Major John Fairfax Blakeborough to DUR (Dorothy Una Ratcliffe).
The letters from Low House, Westerdale, Castleton, are in response to her enquiries about a Gypsy/Traveller poet from Baker Family (born in Kirby Moorside).
1) Letter (30 Jun 1954) includes postcard from R Coverdale (29 June 1954) advising DUR that he had forwarded her enquiry to Blakeborough. Blakeborough is publisher for Baker and in receipt of his original scripts.
2) Also enclosed with letter (7 Jul 1954) is brief biography of a).Thomas Baker b). letter from Thomas Baker to Blakeborough, c). original draft manuscript of his poem, " “A vagabond’s life”, with corrections by Fairfax-Blakeborough, d) letter to Blakeborough from another Gypsy/Traveller poet from Taylor family enclosing
