Description
1) Undated leather bound notebook containing autograph (handwritten) manuscript, chiefly in pencil.
Includes notes/drafts of parts for, "The Bible in Spain;" "Manchu Testament;" notes on his expenses whilst working on the Manchu Testament and poems, including “Song, From the Romany or Gypsy language,” “Farewell O chrystal songs away I rise . ..”. “To Mary Anne” and “Carolans Receipt,"
Also includes unpublished account of narrow escape from death between Cintra and Mafra.
2) Handwritten note on contents with 5 bookmark notes [probably written by Dora Yates/members of the Gypsy Lore Society who likely would have helped with the catalogue description in 1962].
