Description

Supplying a reference for Walter Henry Brown, during his time as a student at the Leeds School of Medicine and as House Surgeon at the Leeds General Infirmary.

Biography or history

John Albert Nunneley (1841-1913), was born in Leeds, son of the surgeon Thomas Nunneley (1809-1870), who was a surgeon at the Leeds General Infirmary and a lecturer at the Leeds School of Medicine.


John Nunneley began his medical studies at the Leeds School of Medicine, and trained at Guy's Hospital, London, and in Paris. He went on to have a long career as surgeon at the Leeds General Infirmary (1870-1899) whilst also running a private practice in Park Place. He also lectured on anatomy at the Leeds School of Medicine.
