Description

Published in 14 fascicles between 1867 and 1868 and then regrouped as a volume. This is the first photographic atlas of skin diseases.

The Clinique photographique de l'Hopital Saint-Louis by Alfred Hardy and Dr. A. de Montmeja is the first French book on dermatology illustrated with original photographs, some of which are hand-colored. It contains 50 mounted photographs. Hardy was influenced by the book on dermatology by Alexander John Balmanno Squire published in London in 1865, the first book on skin diseases to include original photographs. His colleague, the ophthalmologist Montmeja took the photographs. Their book was published in Paris in 1868.--J. Norman, 2006.
