Biography or history

The Raven Mason Collection of ceramics was created by brothers Ronald Raven (1904-1991) and John Mason Raven (1906-1990), and was presented as a gift to Keele University in 1993. Kathleen Raven also later bequeathed some items to the Collection.

Kathleen Raven and her brothers had links to the Mason family via their mother, Annie Williams Mason. Annie Mason's father was Jeremiah Mason, reportedly a direct descendent of Miles Mason (1752-1822), who founded Mason's Ironstone China.
