Description

Previously housed in a paper folder labelled: 'Cemetery - general to December 1964'. Contains papers and correspondence relating to the general management of the Leeds General Cemetery and regarding plans for landscaping the site, including work on the Bill to transfer ownership of the company to the University of Leeds to be presented to Parliament.


Includes:

A file of nine photographs of gravestones at the Cemetery and two aerial views of the whole site [c.1960s]; shareholder circulars; official notice of the Mortuary Chapel at the cemetery being included in the list of buildings of special architectural or historic interest, from the Ministry of Housing & Local Government, 11 Oct 1963; correspondence with solicitors; correspondence with grave plot owners; two copies of the University of Leeds Reporter, No. 4, 16 Dec 1964, with an article re plans for landscaping the cemetery on p.31; and other papers.
