Description
Papers and correspondence mainly relating to property ownership and legal work undertaken for the Leeds General Cemetery Company Ltd. Includes title deeds, contracts and agreements, and correspondence relating to Cemetery property and land; the Company deed of settlement and other documents relating to the formation of the Company and its development; and correspondence and legal papers relating to various cases and disputes.
The majority of these papers were either created by or sent to the solicitors for the Leeds General Cemetery Company. At varying points in the Company's history, these were either Payne & Eddison, Payne, Eddison & Ford or Nelson, Eddison & Lupton. Edwin Eddison was the original Law Clerk for the Company.
