Description

Held with a copy of Waugh's book 'Remote people', 1931 (http://lib.leeds.ac.uk/record=b1949827).

The undated letter to Chapman-Andrews proposes that Waugh should contact him on his return from Le Canadel ("I hate France"), not least because "I should very much value your opinion on one or two points in the Abyssinian part of my travel book". Edwin Chapman-Andrews, the young acting British Consul at Harar much respected and liked by Waugh when he was in Ethiopia, went on to have a distinguished diplomatic career.
