There are at least two issues of this work which are most easily distinguished by the state of quire B, and of the errata at the end. Quire B exists in an uncancelled state, with 6 leaves, or cancelled with 7 leaves (B1-5 are cancelled and replaced by a new B⁶, which has B4 verso and B5 verso unpaged; B5 recto is numbered 8); the errata also has two states: the earlier has 1 p. of errata only. Last four pages are: [1] Contents, [2] blank, [3] "Errata... ", [4] blank. The later state has 2 p. of errata. Last four pages are: [1] Contents, [2] "Faults escaped ... ", [3] "Errata", [4] blank.
The following variants also exist: *1 recto has catchword "I" or "mas"; E2 recto, line 1 ends "was" or "vvas"; I7 recto, line 3 has "penny" or "peny"; Z7 recto, line 2 ends "Wife" or "wife". Cf. STC.
As published, the shields of the coats of arms from p. 1 on are all blank.
The "errors" being corrected occur in "The history, and lives, of twentie kings of England" by William Martyn (STC 17526), and "The catalogue of honor" by Thomas Milles (STC 17926).
