Five pieces of manuscript verse on front two flyleaves and the rear flyleaf in a small and neat italic hand with some secretary 'e's mixed in. Titles and first lines for each are: L[or]d Rochester verse / If Rome can pardon sins, as Romans hold An allusion by ye same author / The freeborne English Generous & wise Wisdom's Lullaby to Afflicting Memory / Alternate resigning night had newly hurl[e]d On a young Lady yt was to marry an old man / Ancient person for whom Ie[a]lo[u]sy and by S[i]r Charles siddly / As in ye nations whom ye yet adore. Inscription (pi1r): E: Rochester's book (arguably in the hand of Elizabeth Malet, the wife of John Wilmot, Earl of Rochester)
