(20) Bound manuscript copy of the score of 'Music of Manfred' in the hand of W.T. Freemantle, headed 'Manfred: a dramatic poem by Lord Byron (1816-1817)’, set to music composed by Edward Loder (1855) and signed at the end 'Finished 21st Feby 1879, W.T. Freemantle'; together with an unbound manuscript score, probably autograph, headed 'Music of Manfred', by E.J. Loder (1855), containing the full orchestral score and 20 separate instrumental and vocal scores. 2 vols.; manuscript. The first volume listed above is bound in black leather with the gilt-embossed lettering ‘Manfred./ E.J. Loder./ Full score’ and some decorations on the outside. The second volume is roughly held within thick grey paper covers. From the Library of Lord Brotherton.
