Description
Twelve male and female informants, recorded in their homes in Cannock giving answers to a questionnaire devised by the collector. This comprised seventy-one questions, and was used to elicit responses which were transcribed phonetically and the data analysed in the collector's Ph.D. thesis, 'A Study of Speech Patterns in the Urban District of Cannock, Staffordshire'. Fieldwork with over ninety informants was undertaken.
