[Announcement, made by collector's mother, a nurse visiting the informant]; Richard Mills and his wife recorded in Walsall Wood; Mr. Mills sings 'The Old Folks Jim', 'A Lady in Hospital' and 'I'm Following in Father's Footsteps'; Mrs. Mills relates an anecdote about a pig; Mr. Mills talks about drinking and singing in the Royal Oak pub [?in Stonnall]; refers to local people living in Stonnall; working as a navvy at Streetly; fire watching during World War Two; sings fragment of [ 'Lord Roberts and Kitchener']; having a robin's breakfast at school in Walsall; working in a [coal] pit and brickyard [? Brick and Tile Company].
