Description
Mr. D. T. Wharton, recorded in Rugby; gives answers to the collector's questionnaire concerning language and terminology associated with the butchering trade. The answers relate to the beef and pork sections of the questionnaire, and include meat cut terms [with reference to numbered diagrams supplied by the collector], butchering equipment/implements, meat display, shop fixtures and fittings, meat storage, meat deliveries, butchers' clothing, other people associated with the meat trade (e.g. inspectors), terms for cutting/processing meat, lard, jobs in the shop, back slang (as used in London).
