Raymond Lindley and his wife [continued from tape LAVC/SRE/A705r, possibly recorded in Spondon, on the outskirts of Derby]; talk of meat contamination and pests; offal, blood products and other by-products; storing and preserving meat; butchers' tools and implements; shop fixtures and fittings; meat display and delivery; butchers' clothing; bosses and employees.
The interview continues with talk of butchers' employees and butchery-related workers; meat deliveries; biographical information on both informants; making black pudding; working at Ashbourne Market; anecdotes concerning employers and incidents at work; the importance of experience; wife's career and work in the shop.
