Description
Methodist Sunday School Anniversary service, recorded in Marsh, near Haworth and Oxenhope (West Yorkshire). The Preacher (retired), Reverend Ian Johnson, introduces proceedings; the congregation sings hymn 71 (with piano and strings accompaniment); prayers; all sing hymn 314; the Preacher talks about the Kingdom Overseas magazine, and its producer Denville Walker (member of the Methodist Missionary Society staff); Ann Moore sings (with piano accompaniment) [incomplete - tape side ends]. Ann Moore's singing continues; notices given regarding Booth United Reform Church Anniversary service; all sing 'Onward Christian Soldiers' (piano and strings accompaniment); the Preacher reads; all sing hymn 873 (by Oliver Wendleholme), accompanied by piano and strings; the Preacher talks about weariness in church work [incomplete - tape ends].
