[Collector announcement]; Oswald Welford, recorded at home in Roxby; recites some of the words to the song 'Farmer Giles', and sings a fragment; talks about singing and dances; mother's musical ability; OW's own music making on the piano and melodeon; anecdote re. local man singing at local election polling station; difficulty of remembering songs; favourite songs; songs remembered from his youth, references to the Boer War; contemporary (pub) singing; remembering 'Farmer's Boy'; the decline in pub singing and the effects of the jukebox.
