George Belton, recorded at home in Birdham (West Sussex) on the 4 May 1974; talks about his brothers and sisters and their occupations; his own working life on the farm; farming at Madehurst; the village; marriage; wife's family; farm work during World War One; in the Home Guard during World War Two; working with horses, working hours, living in; carters and waggoners; farm jobs and crops grown.
