Bob Hart, recorded in Snape [?in the collector's home], talks about practising songs; the preservation of songs and the collector's tape recordings; old songs - music hall, folk; fishing - herring, grounds, boats (sail, steam) and jobs on board; sings 'Cod Banging' and discusses learning it; sings 'John Barleycorn' and comments on another person's version of it; learning songs in a pub in Grimsby during singing sessions; singing at home with his mother, with accordion accompaniment; living in Wrentham; family; schooldays.
