Description
BBC Radio Oxford outside broadcast programme, 'Hello Adderbury', recorded in Adderbury. The programme covers local government, including an interview with the clerk to the Parish Council who explains the amalgamation of Adderbury East and West (informant also the local postman); an interview with a local farmer and a discussion of his Oxford Down sheep; a description of the village church, St. Mary the Virgin; an interview with a local male regarding Adderbury's population and the growth of the village, his involvement in the Parish Council, a discussion of two parishes (including Bodicote), Friendly Societies (Forresters, School), the village club and Parish Feast (pony racing, sports and prizes, dinner on the green for c. 100 men).
Discussion with male informant regarding ironstone mining in Adderbury; description of the village green and Adderbury House (once owned by the poet, ?Rochester).
