Description
George Rispin and Miss Brown relate various anecdotes concerning unidentified noises, the Devil, Bouthwaite Hall, haunting at High Lofthouse, local preachers; also talk of a witch's chimney seat, glass walking stick to keep witches away, witches/wise women; war time recollections; ?Boggle Dyke, home to a large dog/boggart. [Conclusion of recording which starts on tape LAVC/SRE/A243r.
Mr. Smith of Ramsgill relates a number of stories concerning unexplained/supernatural occurrences; the ghost of a woman murdered at Ramsgill; rattling chains heard at midnight on a local road; ?Boggle Dyke; local flood and a man on horseback; a man requesting money in his coffin, and the undertaker's response.
