Description
Edited field recordings of male and female solo singers, some accompanied on the piano, made in Northumberlandand Durham. Includes also monologues and a parodic sermon. The informants include Mrs. Leyland, Jack Elliott and B. Hutchinson.
Tune transcriptions for seven of the songs discussed in the accompanying study are included separately on music manuscript.
