Description

Wooden skittles used in wallops, or nine-pins, knocked down in the road at Castle Bolton ( Wensleydale). Chalk markings can be seen where the skittles should stand. The game is played by throwing a stick from a distance at nine wooden skittles/pins set out in square. The object of the game is to knock down all nine skittles in as few throws as possible. Mounted on Photo File card with LAVC/PHO/P1750. With ms. note. Card 6 in a series of 6.
