Description

Mrs. M. E. Scott scalding buttermaking utensils, including a wooden bowl, scotch hands and butter prints, with boiling water, in her home, West Stonesdale ( Swaledale). After scalding, the utensils will be allowed to cool, and then a small portion of salt will be rubbed on them in order to prevent the butter from sticking while it is being worked. Mounted on Photo File card with LAVC/PHO/P1490. With typed note. Card 5 in a series of 13.
