Description
View of chainmaker working a forge at Noah Bloomer & Sons chainmakers, Cradley Heath, Sandwell (West Midlands). Heaps of finished chains in the foreground. The works has only two closed walls, with the rest open. The roof is supported on girders, with the forges positioned around the walls. Each forge has a large unglazed window beside it to provide some cool air. Mounted on Photo File card with LAVC/PHO/P1396. With ms. note.
