Description

This file contains mounted magazine cuttings from 'John Peel Jottings' and 'Country Life', on bridges, cobble-laying, an ancient causeway in Wiltshire, an old tidal cart track at South Foreland (Kent), superstitions involving the laying of straw on the road, roadside pumps and a stone cantilever bridge at Newsholme Dene (Yorkshire). The cuttings are largely illustrative.
