This file contains articles from Alfred Taylor's 'Bygone Abbeys of Yorkshire'/ 'Abbeys and Priories of Yorkshire'/ 'Bygone Abbeys and Priories of Yorkshire' series, published in and extracted from the 'Yorkshire Evening Post'. The complete series ran from June - [?October] 1963, although the articles in this file consist of the Prologue, and numbers 2, 3, 7, 8, 10, 13, 14, 15, 16 and 18 only. Includes articles on Rievaulx Abbey, Whitby Abbey, Bolton Abbey, Marrick Priory, Egglestone Abbey, St. Mary's Abbey (York), Coverham Abbey, Kirkham Priory, the Church of St. Mary the Virgin (Swine) and Meaux Abbey.
