This volume contains articles written by James Walton for the 'Your Village' series of articles published in the 'Halifax Courier and Guardian' (March-June 1939). The series consists of historical accounts of Calderdale villages, and includes articles on Copley, Shelf, Stainland, Lightcliffe, Cragg Vale, Sowerby, Southowram, Queensbury, Ripponden, Norwood Green, Luddenden, Northowram, Heptonstall and Illingworth.
