Description
This file contains a large number of articles collected, and largely written, by James Walton, most of which have been pasted into hard-backed scrapbooks.
The articles were grouped by subject matter by Walton as the scrapbooks were compiled. This arrangement reflects the fact that many of the articles were written as series for local and/or professional journals. The files are additionally arranged in a rough chronological order, as follows:
- Dales Crafts and Craftsmen
- Rural Life Around Huddersfield
- Halifax Courier and Guardian Articles
- Decadent Local Industries
- Horn-Blowing Customs
- Gates, Walls, and Fields
- Your Village
- Stonecrafts
- Local Woodcrafts
- Country Crafts and Craftsmen
