Description

Photocopied draft, and ms. and typed draft of Pacey's 'A Lincolnshire Song Book', with musical notation of song melodies. The collection was compiled from songs collected by Mrs. Ethel Rudkin, who noted down some of the music. Some was also recorded by Stanley Ellis. The songbook was intended for publication by/for Lincolnshire Museums, and the Museum of Lincolnshire Life. The preface is dated June 1979.


Includes ms. draft title-page, dedication and contents (incomplete); typed preface; texts and tunes to 'My Bonnie Yorkshire Lass', 'Navvy Boots', There was an Old Farmer, 'The Girl with a Box on her Head', 'She Traced the Garden', 'Here Comes One Jew Just Come From Spain', 'The Marble Arch', My Father he Keeps Such Very Fine Sheep, 'Yorkie Watson', 'The Fox and the Hare' and 'The Old Blind Mare'. Notes on the songs are also included.
