Description
A study of the dialect spoken in the village of Woburn in Bedfordshire, based on data collected through fieldwork interviews with four local informants.
An introduction to the village and the informants is followed by three chapters which record the vowels and consonants in the Woburn dialect, and the development of Middle English sounds in the dialect (vowels of stressed and unstressed syllables). An index of words used as examples in the study is included.
