Description
A study of the treatments known by eight farmers from the Mansfield area of Nottinghamshire for ailments afflicting their livestock. Sections deal in turn with remedies relating to an animal's head, nose and chest, digestive organs, udders, feet and legs, and skin complaints. In addition to interviews with the farmers, reference is also made to printed sources and personal diaries loaned to the collector by informants.
