Description
A study of vernacular architecture in a Derbyshire parish containing the settlements of Dethick, Lea, Holloway and Lea Bridge. Sections cover methodology, a glossary of architectural terms, the background to Derbyshire building (geology and principal building materials), descriptions of three farms and non-domestic buildings in Dethick, a cottage in Holloway and cottages and a pub in Lea. Photographs of these buildings and their particular architectural features are included throughout.
