Description
Letter from Robert Penhallurick asking Stanley Ellis to be a referee in support of his application for the post of Director of the Institute of Cornish Studies in Exeter, dated May 22nd 1991. A copy of his letter of application and full curriculum vitae is included with the letter. He also encloses a copy of his paper, 'The Politics of Dialectology', for Stanley Ellis's comments. This is a revised version of a paper (21 leaves) delivered at the Finnish Universities' English Departments Conference, Tampere, Finland, in May 1990.
