This file contains papers created by Brunk for use in tutorials and lectures given to undergraduate students at the Institute of Dialect and Folk Life Studies (IDFLS). The papers contained within this file include typed notices of the Lecturer/Assistant Lecturer vacancy at the IDFLS; copies of typed papers used in tutorials, including the short tale/fable 'The Changeling', copies of the ballads 'Lady Isabel and the Elf-Knight' and 'Lord Lovel', a paper on fairy tales, copies of the ballads 'The Unquiet Grave' and 'Edward, Edward'; ms. notes on custom and belief; an ms. lecture on the concept of folk and folk life; typed lectures/tutorials on oral traditions, popular customs and beliefs, folk medicine (also some ms.), fieldwork techniques and material traditions (including references to photographs and ms. tutorial notes referring to Swedish and Norwegian farmhouses); typed essay questions for second- and third-year undergraduates; typed tutorials/lecture notes on English and Swedish
ballads, Faroese dance, calendar customs, movable festivals and custom and belief (including some ms.); Maurice Colbeck's article 'The Fairies of Cottingley', published as part of the 'Mysterious Yorkshire' series in the 'Yorkshire Life' magazine (October 1966).
The file is arranged as found. Brunk appears to have kept these papers in chronological order.
