Description
This sub-subseries contains correspondence relating to Stewart Sanderson's professional activities and interests, both in relation to Folk Life Studies at Leeds, and in his capacity as a leading British folklorist. As such, it includes internal correspondence relating to the Survey of English Dialects (SED) publication programme and the activities of the Institute of Dialect and Folk Life Studies (IDFLS); and correspondence with a variety of external bodies and individuals on various subjects of professional interest.
Provenance
Two empty, labelled, files which apparently once also contained papers relating to Sanderson's professional activities, were found amongst his correspondence. They are labelled Dr. Mary Taylor and Special Files - Brown Univ. . Barry. B.A. The papers from these files have not been traced.
