Description

This file contains original and copy correspondence, and other papers relating to the awarding of a grant from the Leverhulme Trust in support of the production of 'The Linguistic Atlas of England' (LAE). This includes a copy of the funding application and reports on the progress of the LAE (January 1969-January 1978); correspondence relating to the successful obtaining of a Leverhulme grant, including a letter from the Vice Chancellor, Edward Boyle (October-November 1971); internal correspondence with the University of Leeds Bursar regarding the payment of accounts and related papers (April 1972-October 1975); statements of expenditure for 1971-1976; and miscellaneous photocopied draft LAE maps for the notions Farmer (SED question VIII.4.7), Slide (on ice) (SED question VIII.7.1) and Vest (SED question VI.14.9).
