Description

File of typed correspondence between Stewart Sanderson and various at E. J. Arnold and Son Limited, relating to the Survey of English Dialects (SED) publication programme and proposals for folklife publications. This includes a typed copy of the memorandum of the SED publishing agreement (1961); correspondence with D. R. Shenton, Margaret Wainwright, David Pye and others on the future of the SED publication programme, 'The Linguistic Atlas of England', proposals for an SED tape anthology and Gerald Keil's computerisation project (July 1967-January 1976); correspondence with D. Wilson Bell, Margaret Wainwright, Mrs. D. M. Jones and others on proposals for future folklife publications with Arnold's, including a series on rural crafts based on Institute of Dialect and Folk Life Studies (IDFLS) dissertations and theses (May 1965-May 1968); statements of accounts, invoices and expenses (April 1965-September 1975); and correspondence with various members of Arnold's Sales Department regarding
orders for SED Basic Material volumes and related enquiries (January 1966-September 1975).
