Description

This series consists of photocopied and printed base and dialect-area maps, which are predominantly blank and mainly relate to England and the English counties. It includes various base maps of England (with Wales and Scotland), some of which are headed Linguistic Atlas of England; printed map, 'The Dialect Areas of England (1400-1450)'; printed maps of the Network of Northern Localities; photocopied ms. maps of Yorkshire, relating to the Yorkshire Network of Localities, North Midlands/Northern dialect borders (originally compiled by Fritz Röhrer) and topographical features; printed Linguistic Geography maps for Staffordshire, Shropshire and Worcestershire, Somerset, the South-Western counties of England and Kent, Sussex and Surrey; base maps of the United States; transparencies of base maps of England (with Wales and Scotland); printed maps of England and Wales, and Scotland, issued by the London Geographical Institute.
