Description
This section contains a transcript (Tape No. 1200) of an interview with Olive Parsons regarding her life as a young Socialist in London. Parsons was born into a Jewish family in Britain in 1892. She lived through both the First and the Second World Wars. The interview discusses her involvement in socialist organisations and the Suffragettes during the First World War and the inter-war period, she describes taking part in various anti-war demonstrations. In the 1930s she travelled to Germany to study art in Salzburg where she witnessed the rise of Nazism in the Weimar Republic.
