Some volumes have leaves mounted and repaired. Where the volumes have been bound up in two parts, part-titles have been mounted, to form title-pages to the second parts. Title-pages to vol.13, pt.2 and vol.17, pt.1 are actually those printed for vols. 8 and 7 repectively, with the original dates, but with labels pasted over the volume numbers. In some cases, tables of contents are bound with the volumes preceding those to which they refer. Signatures indicate that parts of vols. 5, 6, and 9 have been bound up with vols. 6, 7, and 8 respectively. On title-pages of vols. 19 and 21 are signatues of "Nicolas Früs, 1668"

Many of the volumes have engraved title pages.
Begun by J. and E. Richer and continued by T. Renaudot.
Title of v.1 continues: Ou, la suitte de l'histoire de la paix. Commencant l'an M.DC.V pour suitte du Septenaire du D. Cayer... [etc.].
Title varies. Vol.2 has title: La continuation de mercure francois. Further volumes have title: Troisième (-Quatrième -[etc.]) tome du mercure françois.
