Description
Agenda, minutes and papers of the Court, Council, Senate and Boards of the Faculties of the Yorkshire College and University of Leeds and their associated committees, sub-committees, groups, working parties, etc. This Section is divided into the following Sub-Sections:[1] Bound and Signed Minutes: including the signed minutes of the Yorkshire College Council and Committees of Council (1874-1904), Professors Meetings (1874-1878), Academic Board (1878-1884), Senate (1884-1904) and Board of the Faculties of Science, Technology and Arts (1884-1904), followed by signed minutes of the Court, Council, Senate, and Boards of the Faculties of the University of Leeds and associated committees (1904 onwards).(The following more recent sequences also include the agenda and supporting papers for each meeting:)[2] Court and Committees of Court[4] Council and Committees of Council[5] Senate and Committees of Senate[6] Joint Committees of Council and Senate[7] Post-Jarratt Sequence: committees of Council
and Senate established in the major re-organisation of the University committee system following consideration of the recommendations of the Committee of Vice-Chancellors and Principals Steering Committee for Efficiency Studies in Universities under the Chairmanship of Sir Alex Jarratt (1984-85).[8] Faculties and Boards of the Faculties[9] Joint Committees of the University and External Bodies[10] Miscellaneous committees [11] Central Record Office Committee Records - committees received from the Central Record Office after its merger with the University Archive in 2012.
System of arrangement
Follows the hierarchical arrangement of the committee structure itself, for example records of the Council itself are followed by the main committees of Council (in alphabetical order), each main committee being followed by its own sub-committees (also in alphabetical order), and so on down the hierarchy.
