Inside on the front of the 2nd page is written 'My Visit To Russia And Czechoslovakia By Mrs Mattison, 61 Leopold Street, Leeds' and on the back a medallion of Mrs Mattison is displayed. Contains articles from the Yorkshire Evening Post, The Yorkshire Post, The Daily Herald, The Leeds Weekly Citizen, The Leeds Mercury, The Manchester Guardian, The Co-Operative News, The Christian Science Monitor Boston dated from January 1924 to March 1942. Includes:
An extract from Mrs F. Mattison’s letter from Moscow dated 6th August 1929.
Interviews of Mrs F. Mattison on her return from Russia – her experiences and her comments on education, and emancipation of women in Russia.
Mrs F. Mattison on the voyage to Russia, the stay in Leningrad, visits to Moscow and then Kiev and finally her return journey to Britain (written by Florence Mattison).

Inside the volume was found an annoucement of the annual memorial service for Edward Carpenter, 6th July 1947.
