Description

St Gregory the Great (Pope Gregory I), kneels at the altar during a Mass, with two priests, one of them holding his triple tiara. Christ appears to him on the altar, on which are laid a book (Missal?), a chalice, and candles. Instruments of the Passion, Arma Christi, are in the background.
