Description
The miniature depicts the scene of the Nativity in the stable. The Virgin Mary is dressed in a blue gown and a cloak decorated in gold, her arms crossed on her chest, and looking down at the Christ Child lying on her cloak. Christ has a tripartite halo and golden rays shining from his body. Joseph kneels by an opening in the wall, through which the town of Nazareth can be seen. The ox and the ass look upon the scene.
