Satire in verse. The addressee is probably Anne Seymour Damer, who is here hinted to be a lesbian.

This collection piece is a poem directed to the English sculptor, Anne Seymour Damer, who was rumored to be in a romantic relationship with the actor Elizabeth Farron.

An unsigned leaf, numbered 15-16 has been inserted between pp.16-17.

Variant lacks the extra leaf and has all pages correctly numbered.

Also issued, without the additional leaf, and with a different titlepage bearing the imprint: "Sold by T. Southern; and in Paternoster-Row".

Reviewed in 1778 in 'Monthly Review' and 'London Review'.

Jack Cavendish is a pseudonym.
