The upper and lower covers are blind-tooled with a border and frame of triple fillets containing a pattern of stars and interlaced knotted ropes. There is evidence of the book having been fastened with four metal clasps, one each at the head and tail and two at the fore-edge. The spine has three raised bands. Gold-tooled between fillets in the second panel are the words: Suetonii Opera Venetiis 1490. The remaining panels are decorated with a blind-tooled herringbone pattern. At the top of the spine are the remains of a circular pinked library label. Size: 325 x 215mm. Leaf size: 311 x 203mm.
