Bindings


Eighteenth-century half binding of brown calf and paper which has been surface-coated and sprinkled with black. In the centre of the upper cover is a gold-tooled initial E with a crown above it and the date 1777 beneath. The spine has five raised bands. Gold-tooled onto a pared pale brown leather lettering piece in the second panel are the words: Magnimi Regimen sanitatis. Gold-tooled directly onto the spine in the third panel are the place and date: Parisiis. 1483. Size: 212 x 152mm. Leaf size: 208 x 143mm.

At the foot of leaf a2r is the outline of a black oval library stamp with the name rubbed out.
